After more than two months of contemplation of what the Indianapolis Colts would do with Peyton Manning, we received our answer today; Goodbye Peyton. The many loyal Colts fans across the nation are in an awkward sense of mourning today as they say goodbye to the man that made their franchise and is widely known as the greatest Colt to ever live (maybe some exception with Johnny Unitas). Typically fans would look at this situation as the worst thing possible, just as the many Packers fans did when Brett Favre retired. They had no idea that they would be receiving such a great gift with Aaron Rodgers waiting in the wings and it seemed their beloved franchise was heading toward some rebuilding years. This is not the mindset the Colts fans have though, they already see the future franchise quarterback and he only lies a little more than a month away. Andrew Luck will have the largest expectations for a quarterback ever coming out of college, not only because he is the highest rated quarterback to come out of college since John Elway, but because the Colts let a Hall of Fame quarterback go to make him the opening day starter. The Colts have their next "Hall of Famer" in line and although they must say goodbye to legend, they believe they have one that may be better than Peyton was. A guy that can take the Colts to more than seven AFC Championship Games, two Super Bowls, one Lombardi Trophy, and garner more than a four MVP career. Colts fans, here is the first glimpse at your new "Peyton Manning", your future, your franchise:Wednesday, March 7, 2012
